At a ribbon cutting on Friday afternoon, Absolute Compassion Home Health celebrated its recent expansion into hospice with staff as well as members of the community and the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce.

In the local area, Absolute Compassion has been known for years for its home health, which provides medical services in the comfort of a patient’s home. These services include both nursing and therapy services with a team of medical professionals.

Now, Absolute Compassion takes its services even further, providing compassionate care for those diagnosed with a terminal illness. This care includes nursing visits, medical social services and bereavement services as well as therapy, spiritual and volunteer services. These services are covered 100% by Medicare.

“Hospice is provided by a full team of professionals,” Absolute Compassion shared. “Hospice patients do not need to be homebound. Patients can still receive the benefits from hospice even if they are still active.”

Helping to oversee these new services are Dr. Matthew Brady, the medical director, and Samantha McLean, director of nursing.

“As medical director for Absolute Compassion Home Health and Hospice, Dr. Brady is an advocate for quality and safety as well as a supporter of value based care,” Absolute Compassion shared. “As the director of nursing, Samantha serves as a liaison between the medical doctors and the nursing staff to ensure the optimum care of patients is maintained.”

When hospice services are finished, Absolute Compassion offers grief support to surviving family members for 13 months after the patient has passed.

Absolute Compassion is located at 189 South 600 West, Suite C in Price. The home health and hospice team can be reached at (435) 637-7988.
