Alleged Elementary School Thief Waives Hearing, Scheduled to be Arraigned

Green River resident Nicholas Cordingley appeared in the 7th District Court of Castle Dale last week after being arrested in connection with a burglary of Green River’s Book Cliff Elementary school as well as a vehicle belonging to Emery School District.

Charged with two second-degree felonies of theft and a third-degree felony of burglary, Cordingley waived his right to a preliminary hearing at his appearance, according to information from the Emery County Attorney’s Office.

Proceedings will continue with Cordingley being arraigned on Wednesday, Jan. 18 before 7th District Court Judge Douglas Thomas at 10 a.m.
