Ascension St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church was full of activity over the weekend as the congregation hosted the state of Utah’s annual dioceses convention. The convention hasn’t been hosted in Castle Country for over 20 years. The theme for this year’s convention was “With God We Can Change the World”.

Representatives came from all over the state, as well as some from Page, Arizona, which is also a part of the Utah Diocese, and gathered at the convention on Friday and Saturday to elect officers as well as pass resolutions and amendments. Various workshops were also on the agenda and included keynote speakers throughout the convention.

The annual Utah convention often takes place in the Salt Lake area and has not been hosted in Price since the early 1990s.

In addition to workshops and meetings, a dinner catered by Groggs was held at the Carbon County Events Center on Friday evening for those in attendance.
