The fourth employee of the month for the 2018 year was announced at Wednesday evening’s regularly scheduled Carbon County Commission meeting. Announced by Rose Barnes, director of human resources for the county, and a number of representatives from the attorney’s office, Jeremy Humes humbly accepted the title for April.

Barnes stated that there aren’t many people that realize all that the attorney’s office does for the county. She furthered the statement by commending Humes for being a wonderful employee and attorney. A representative of the office then stepped forward, stating that Humes has been involved in significant cases with the attorney’s office lately.

Especially emphasized was the double-homicide case that Humes ran, with the representative stating that Humes “smashed it out of the park.”

“The enormity of managing a case like that while still managing the other cases is worth accommodation,” the office’s representative stated.

Humes continued to receive praise in the form of statements that he does a fantastic job that is “not just 9-5.” Often, Humes is called at all hours for search warrants and the like. A lot of Humes’ work goes unseen, according to Commissioner Casey Hopes.

A local officer also stated that in law enforcement, a lot of direction and behavior for many situation comes from the attorney’s office and a lot of the success is through the combined efforts of the two.
