*UDPATE* Auto Accident on Carbonville Road Brings Traffic to a Standstill

UPDATE: The Carbon County Sheriff’s Department along with fire and ambulance crews were dispatched to a three-car accident at approximately 3:08 p.m. Friday afternoon. The accident occurred on Carbonville Road near Howa and Sons.

According to sheriff’s deputy Dale Maxfield, a white pickup truck driven by an older, adult male, rear-ended a van that was stopped for a school bus. The impact of the collision forced the van into the rear-end of the school bus.

“The bus had just finished letting one student off,” Maxfield explained. “The bus driver had just lowered the stop sign when the accident occurred.”

The driver of the pickup truck as well as a second adult male were transferred to Castleview Hospital. The pickup driver was cited for failure to yield.

According to deputy Maxfield, it took approximately one hour to clean up the accident scene, thus resulting in traffic delays on Carbonville Road.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon, emergency personnel were called to the scene of an auto accident near Howa and Sons. The Carbon County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the scene.
