Bell’s Grand Slam Helps Emery Get Big Win Over North Sevier in Extra Innings *Photo Gallery*

Saturday was a great day for Ashton Bell as she hit two home runs, one of which was a grand slam, to carry the Emery Spartans to a 12-7 victory over North Sevier in eight innings.

Bell racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Lady Spartans. She homered in the fourth and eighth innings.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, notching 10 lead changes in the game.

The Spartans pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. A walk by Taylor Payne scored Jarica Huntington and gave Emery the lead for good.

The Lady Spartans hit three home runs in the win. They came when Jacie Huntington homered in the sixth inning and Bell homered in the fourth and eighth innings.

Bell got the win for the Spartans in the circle. She allowed two runs over five innings. She struck out six, walked four and surrendered two hits.

North Sevier ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. The pitcher allowed nine runs in 7 1/3 innings, walked six and struck out seven.
