Helper City Councilmen attempted to move forward Thursday with plans to remedy the City’s drainage problems, but a lack of detailed bids wouldn’t allow for a resolution.
Mayor Dean Armstrong was upset that the City only received one bid for cement contracting that would fix the problem. Armstrong said the bid he was aware of lacked essential details and specifics.
Councilmen said they had too little information on the situation and tabled the matter until further research could be obtained.
Notes:
- Armstrong reported Helper City had received funding for capital facilities improvements from the CIB. The City procured $74,000. Armstrong said the City would match the funds, bringing the total to $148,000.
- Helper’s Capital Facilities Improvement Plan includes redoing drinking, waste and storm water management throughout the City. The projects were projected for completion in three to 10 years depending upon funding.
