Dinos Into Quarters for First Time Since 1995 After Win Over Tooele

For the first time since 1995, the Carbon Dinos boys’ basketball team is into the second round of the 3A Playoffs after a 54-46 win over the Tooele Buffaloes Friday night in Tooele.

After scoring just three points in the opening quarter, the Dinos rebounded, outscoring the Buffaloes 17-10 in the second and 15-6 in the third to grind out the win.

The Dinos will take on the Ridgeline Riverhawks in the 3A Quarterfinals at 11:10 a.m on Thursday at Utah State University. The Riverhawks beat the Hurricane Tigers 72-59 earlier Friday for a spot in the quarterfinals.

Kyle Quinton led the Dinos with 17 points on 5-9 from the field. He also went 7-10 from the free throw line. Chase Morgan nailed two 3-pointers in the game en route to 10 points. Gage Daugherty and Jamin Jensen each chipped in eight.
