Buckaroos Too Much for the Pinnacle Panthers

The Pinnacle Panthers struggled to stop Monticello’s offense on Tuesday as the team took a region loss, 73-41, in Price.

Monticello took control of the game early, scoring 20 points in the first quarter while holding Pinnacle to 10. The Buckaroos cooled in the second, chipping in only 11. The Panthers were not able to make up their deficit, adding only 10 to the scoreboard in the second, leaving the team trailing 31-21 at the half.

The Buckaroos went on to outscore the hosting team 42-20 in the second half to take the region win. Pinnacle’s downfall came in the third quarter where the team managed only four points, putting the Panthers in a hole from which they could not climb. Monticello poured in a game high 22 points in the fourth the run away with the win.

Senior Dalton Cook led the Price squad with 12 points. Kaden Daughters also scored in double digits for the Panthers, adding 10 points in the team’s effort.

The Panthers will play Wayne on Tuesday evening on their home court for senior night. The game can be viewed on ETV Channel 10 at approximately 7 p.m.
