Dr. Blake Hillstead, a former Utah resident, has found his way back to the Beehive State and into Castle Country to practice orthodontics at Castle Valley Orthodontics.

A Seattle native, Dr. Hillstead and his family made Utah home while he was in junior high. He continued his education in Utah, receiving his undergraduate in biology at Brigham Young University before traveling to India and Nepal to serve a two-year, LDS mission.

Upon returning from his mission, Hillstead once again found himself in Seattle, this time to attend the University of Washington School of Dentistry. After four years of dental school, Dr. Hillstead and his wife, Alison, relocated to Arizona for residency at A.T. Still, where he served as chief resident for over two years.

Dr. Hillstead and his wife remained in Arizona for an additional three years, where he owned and operated a practice in Sedona. After that time, the Hillstead family decided it was time to make the move back to Utah, where Blake now finds himself practicing in the Castle Country.

“We were thrilled to be able to return home to Utah to practice orthodontics,” Dr. Hillstead said. “I really feel at home in Carbon and Emery counties because I am used to living in a smaller community.”

At Castle Valley Orthodontics, Dr. Hillstead worked closely with Dr. Broadwater for a time. The transition then began for Dr. Broadwater to turn the reins over to Dr. Hillstead, who now provides the care for all patients who visit Castle Valley Orthodontics.

Being the sole provider at Castle Valley Orthodontics, patients will find stable care as Dr. Hillstead provides constant overview of each smile that visits the office.

“I want my children to have one doctor that provides all of their care, and I am happy to be able to offer that continuity of care to patients in the area,” Dr. Hillstead said.

Under the direction of Dr. Hillstead, the office prides itself on board certified services with the latest techniques and state-of-the-art technology for all stages of orthodontic care.

“Using proven, state-of-the-art technology to enhance your experience, our orthodontic practice maintains the most advanced procedures and equipment available, including digital radiography, digital photography and advanced computer graphics, to ensure that every patient achieves a healthy and beautiful smile,” Castle Valley Orthodontics shares.

Patients can find traditional braces as well as newer options such as Invisalign or clear braces. Clear (ceramic) braces offer a treatment that is less noticeable than metal brackets.

When Dr. Hillstead is not in the office improving smiles, he can be found enjoying time with his wife and three children, a number which is expected to grow to four in July. He can also be seen on the soccer field, competing in marathons and triathlons, or squaring up for a friendly game of table tennis.

Castle Valley Orthodontics can be found in the Castle Valley Dental Specialist building located at 391 North 400 East in Price. For more information or to make an appointment with Castle Valley Orthodontics, please call (435) 637-2222 or visit castlevalleyorthodontics.com.
