While Chriss Gray is a familiar sight at Swift Stop & Shop in Helper where she manages the local convenience store, she also stays busy running e-SCENT-ials at Price’s Apple Country Crafts.
e-SCENT-ials has been known for more than 10 years for its large selection of Salt City candles as well as a variety of gifts. However, since the beginning of 2017, Gray has had to look at other ways to expand e-SCENT-ials after Salt City announced a company closure.
“At the beginning of the year, Salt City announced that there were going to close its doors,” Gray said. “Since then, I have found other, high-quality candle companies to replace this popular product.”
With the closure announcement, Gray also bought a large quantity of Salt City products in an attempt to offer Castle Country residents a chance to purchase products before they are gone for good. She also made the leap into Candle Warmer and Ashmen candles, both of which are based in Utah.
“I try to support local companies that do business within the state of Utah,” said Gray. “These two companies produce high-quality products in great scents.”
However, e-SCENT-ials doesn’t only carry candles. Gray keeps a large stock of melter tiles and candle warmers as well as melter pots. Customers can also find a wide variety of essential oils and oil diffusers. This variety contributes to Gray’s goal of providing something for everyone.
“Taking care of my customers is important to me,” Gray said. “e-SCENT-ials carries a really nice supply of gifts and they are reasonably priced. And if I don’t have something, I can usually get it.”
