Business Spotlight: Screen Tech

Screen Tech is a screen printing and embroidery company owned and operated by Adam Jeffs. Seven years ago, Jeffs purchased the business from his father Jerry Jeffs who opened the business approximately 23 years ago.

When Jeffs was young, he enjoyed going down to the business to learn and work with his father. His interest in the company led him to take over for his father.

Screen Tech does embroidery, which is a process that is applied to a textile item via computer digitized designs on state-of-the-art embroidery machines. Embroidery is the best way to reproduce a design or company logo and can be applied to thousands of available textile items. It creates a clean, professional look for business owners, employees, teams, students and more. It is a classy and effective form of advertisement.

The business also does silk screen printing, which is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil to receive a desired image. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials that can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A fill blade or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing ink through the mesh openings to wet the substrate during the squeegee stroke. Colors are applied separately and each color has a separate screen.

Jeffs does some designing and can silk screen print and embroider on most apparel including screen printing photos on shirts and quilts. Screen Tech provides service to businesses, individuals, family reunions, weddings, sports teams and many more.

Screen Tech is located at 225 East Main Street in Castle Dale and can be contacted at (435) 381-5111. Store hours are Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
