Earlier this afternoon, at approximately 3 p.m., a male driver heading eastbound on SR-6, at about milepost 241 near Market Express, left the roadway from the highway on the right side and rolled down the embankment before coming to a stop, according to information from the Utah Highway Patrol.

The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle due to his not wearing a seatbelt and stated after the accident he believed the vehicle rolled one to two times.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The car was totaled and the driver walked away from the vehicle and, after being inspected by on-scene responders, was not transported for treatment per his request.

The Utah Highway Patrol would like to urge drivers and passengers to remember to always use seatbelts, even in seemingly clear weather. According to one of the responding officers, the accident could have ended much worse and the driver is very lucky.
