Carbon and Emery Youth Wrestlers Face Off at Tourney

Twenty-nine Carbon and 13 Emery wrestlers competed at the 1A, 2A, 3A, Junior High/Middle School State Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Richfield at the Sevier Valley Center. Thirty teams participated.

Carbon finished 19th and Emery 13th. Fifth and sixth grades were considered middle school and seventh through ninth grade wrestlers were considered junior high in this tournament.

Those wrestlers placing first through sixth in their individual weight classes included Peyton Kimbers, Daniel Dougal and Colin Fausett placing fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively for the Carbon middle school division.

In the Carbon junior high category, Bryce Judd, Ridic Migliori and Patrick Paulk took fourth. McKaden Whiteleather took sixth.

Jess Christiansen took home first in the Emery middle school division with Byron Christiansen and Dalton Hayes placed second. Jarin Allen took third and Sid Christiansen took sixth.

The Emery junior high division was represented by Bryar Meccariello (third) and  Dwain Farley (fourth), as well as Drake Weber and Braiden Ivie, who both took sixth. Ivie suffered an injury and had to forfeit his last two matches.
