Press Release

Over the weekend, the Carbon Composite mountain bike team headed to Richfield to participate in the second race of the season.

The course was a six-mile loop with smooth and fast sections of singletrack with big sweeping berms, traversing along the lava rock hills and then finished up on the Jorgensen Motocross track, which includes more sweeping berms and large rollers. Depending on the age group, the riders did one, two or three laps.

At Richfield, many team members posted better times and got better placement results. Trevor Worley (eighth grade) took the podium with a third place time out of 61 kids. Louie Jensen (seventh grade) placed 20th out of 96 kids, a seven-spot improvement. Rusty Seeley (ninth grade) improved by 20 spots. Chad, Ryan Page and Dan Schauguard (11th grade) also improved several spots.

The team continues to get stronger despite being down one racer to injury and another having equipment failure on the course. All in all, Carbon Composite’s team result is 13th after two races out of 20 clubs.

The team’s next race is Sept. 22 in Moab.
