Carbon County Commissioners voted Wednesday to move local precinct boundaries and create a new voting district in Scofield.

The vote included adding annexed areas of Price into voting districts. Commissioners also tweaked boundaries for State School Board voting.

Commissioner Jae Potter said the changes would help clean up the voting districts and lessen confusion about where voters should cast their ballots.

Commissioners also moved to make the Carbon County Fairgrounds and Carbon County School District buildings voting centers for the County and Price City.

Commissioners said the change would allow Carbon County to pool its resources. The changes would also eliminate parking concerns and school interruptions during voting times.
