Carbon County Officer, Emergency Operations Director Arrested for Theft

Jason Llewelyn, a certified officer working for the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office, has been placed on unpaid administrative leave and booked into the Emery County Jail on theft-related offenses.

Jason Llewelyn serves as the Emergency Operations Director for the County and is a ten-year veteran with the sheriff’s office.

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office takes all allegations of misconduct by its officers very seriouslyAll allegations are investigated thoroughly according to the department’s administrative policies. Formal charges are being screened by the Carbon County Attorney’s Office.

In order to be a true transparent agency that works with the community, the community needs to trust the direction of that agency. There are still many unanswered questions regarding this situation involving Llewelyn and due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, many of these questions cannot be answered at this time. The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office will provide updates as soon as possible.
