The Falcons grabbed an early lead in Carbon’s away game against the team on Friday, never letting it go en route to an 11-5 win.

Carbon trailed by one entering the second, after which Canyon View scored an additional two runs to take the score to 4-1. The Dinos responded in the third, fifth and seventh to manage more runs but couldn’t keep up with the Falcons, who grabbed a game-high five runs in the sixth.

Seniors Chase Morgan, Gavin Robinett and Jayden Flemmett each scored an RBI for the team. Flemett and Robinett also each hit a double as well as Ty Anderson.

Morgan also pitched five of the innings with Jaxon Leonard taking the mound for a single. Morgan was also awarded the loss.

Carbon currently sits at third in Region 12 action, coming behind Canyon View and Juab with seven wins overall and five losses.

The freshman and sophomore team will next face off against Payson on Wednesday in Helper. Then, that night, an alumni game will take place with the current varsity team facing off against past Carbon and American Legion team members. The alumni game will take place at 7:30 with this year’s senior players being honored beforehand.

Following Wednesday’s action, the Dinos will travel to Skyridge on Saturday in hopes of securing their next victory.
