The Carbon Girl’s basketball team has rebounded from their mid-season overtime loss to Delta, to win seven games in a row by an average score of more than 22 points. Their most recent game against Region 10-rival Wasatch was no exception, bringing their overall record to 13-1. The Lady Dinos used tough defense to rout the Wasps 55-24 at Carbon High.

Tia Pappas and Miranda Averett led the team with 15 and 14 points, respectively. But the team’s 21 steals were the most telling statistic. Averett led the team with five, and Pappas and Sarah Potts each had four. Leading 33-12 at halftime and never allowing the Wasps to reach double-digit scoring in a quarter, the game was never in doubt, and Carbon’s nearly unbreakable press kept it well out of reach.

The game between Carbon and Wasatch will air Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. on ETV 10. The Lady
Dinos’ next game will be at Carbon High against Union on Friday, Jan. 28.
