Carbon High Boy’s Golf Team Starts Out Season On Top

The first boy’s golf match of the 2016 season took place on Wednesday. This match was hosted by Richfield and featured Carbon High, North Sanpete, Richfield, Canyon View and Juab.

Carbon High School came out triumphant with a team total of 307. North Sanpete nabbed second place with a total of 317. Richfield came in third with 338, Canyon View with 348 and Juab had a team total of 418.

Individual scores for the Carbon Boy’s team were as follows: Ryker Smith, 74, Ryan Gagon, 77, Carson Martines, 78, Joey Penovich, 78, Kayden Alderson, 79 and Brady Gagon with 86 points.

“They did what they were supposed to do and what I expected them to do, shooting 307,” stated coach Tom King. “They’re right where I want them with be with 307. I was probably most proud of Carson Martines this week.”

The Carbon boy’s golf team will next play Soldier Hollow on August 25.
