In a nonregion faceoff at Gunnison, the Carbon Lady Dinos grabbed a victory against the Gunnison Bulldogs, 13-5.
Carbon’s lead came early in the match, leading 6-2 heading into the fourth, after which the Bulldogs closed the gap by putting up three more. Carbon responded in the next three innings, putting up a total of seven more runs, including a game-high four in the sixth.
Carbon currently sits at fourth in Region 12 standings with a 3-5 region record and a 13-8 overall record. The team is scheduled to begin their run in the state tourney on Saturday at Cedar High School where the team will take on the Cedar Redmen.
