Carbon’s 57-39 loss to the visiting Richfield Wildcats Friday night started nearly as the Lady Dinos did Tuesday against North Sanpete. Both teams jumped out to early leads to fall flat in the remaining quarters.
The Dinos jumped out to a 9-2 lead early in the first quarter, while the Lady Dinos started on an 8-2 run. The Lady Dinos then stumbled and scored just 12 points combined in the second and third quarters, respectively. The boy’s team scored just seven points in the second quarter and trailed 25-16 at half.
Cole Fossat led Carbon with 11 points. Garrett Blanc chipped in eight and Brad Williams scored six, including two 3-pointers.
The Dinos have dropped nine in a row since their only win on the season, a 67-59 win against Ogden at the Pepsi Classic at Ben Lomond High School Dec. 7.
Carbon (1-13, 0-2 Region 12) will play at Juab (9-4, 1-1 Region 12) Wednesday.
