In an assembly on Thursday morning at Carbon High School, 17 students took to the stage to run for a position on Carbon’s student government.
Each candidate made a video prior to Thursday, promoting their candidacy and appealing to students to vote for them. After their videos were presented to the student body, each candidate answered two questions pertaining to student government, Carbon High and community events. Students sent in their votes via email throughout the day.
“Some of the positions were tied down to the percentage,” said Carbon Student Government advisor Troy Chilcott. “It was a hard decision, but I am looking forward to working with these students next year and seeing what they can accomplish.”
The results from voting were posted Friday after school and are shown below.

Sophomore Class Officers: President – Ty Johnson; Vice President – Gabriella Christensen
