Carbon Swim Dominates at Grand

The Carbon High swim team traveled to Moab on Tuesday to compete against the Grand Red Devils, Millard High School and Gunnison Valley.

Emily Jespersen and Taycie Davis were the top two in the 200 IM while Matthew Torres notched third in the same event.

Jespersen swam alongside Sofia Crompton, Ashlin Baker and Kacee Barrett in the girls’ 200 freestyle relay, placing first with a time of 2:01.98. Kinnon Lyman, Jerron Stead, Rylan Chamberlain and Tyson Swasey also teamed up and swam a time of 1:46.69 in the 200 freestyle relay, barely missing first place.

The Carbon Dinos took first place at the meet with an overall score of 576 points. The Dinos will next travel to Orem on Nov. 30 to take on Timpanogos, Maple Mountain and Maesar Prep.
