Carbon Swim Suffers Loss at Home, Hope to Improve

Carbon swam again at home last Tuesday against Payson High School, Uintah High School, South Sevier High School and Wasatch Academy. The team suffered from some big losses, coming in third overall at the meet with a combined total of 296 points.

Despite a big loss in points, Carbon swimmers were still able to pull some great times from the meet.

Megan Swasey, Nicole Swasey, Sofia Crompton, and Shannon Baker teamed up in the girls’ 200 medley to take second place with a time of 2:10.02. Kacee Barrett followed shortly after in the girls’ 200 IM, coming in third with a time of 2:49.77.

Throughout the season, Tyson and Megan Swasey have made waves in the boys’ and girls’ 50 free. Megan placed second in her event with a time of 28.05 with Tyson swimming a 25.51, coming in fourth.

Kinnon Lyman was the highlight of the boys’ 100 butterfly, swimming into fourth with a time of 1:14.95. Lyman again swam in the boys’ 200 free relay team alongside Rylan Chamberlain, Tyson Swasey and Dallen Tweddell. The team came in second.

The Swaseys again placed high in the 100 breaststroke with Nicole Swasey swimming a 1:22.33 to first place. Tyson came in second in his event, swimming a time of 1:09.94.
