Carbon Swim Team Continues Success on the Road

The Carbon Dino swim team continued on the road Wednesday with success at Richfield. The Dinos went up against Richfield, Wasatch and North Sanpete high schools.

The girls were led by Veronica Ibanez, who placed first in the girls’ 200 yard IM with a time of 2:37 as well as the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke. She was also included in a 200-yard medley with teammates Sadie Crompton, Megan Swasey and Amanda Liu relay that took first with a time of 2:07.

Liu also delivered a stunning performance in the girls’ 50 free with a time of 28.35 seconds. Megan Swasey led the pack in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:05.

The girls combined for a score of 93 points, leaving them ahead of opponent Richfield, who came in second with 43 points.

The boys also made a splash with a combined score of 44 points. The team was led by Tyson Swasey, who scored first in the 100-yard free with a time of 56.71. His 200-yard medley relay time scored a close second, falling to the Richfield Wildcats with teammates Jackson Rosier, Rylan Chamberlain and Kinnion Lyman.

Chamberlain also helped the boys by securing a first place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:29. Also, a sixth place finish in the 100-yard backstroke was swam by teammate Tyson Swasey with a time of 1:17.
