The Lady Dinos traveled to Juab for a region match on Tuesday night. Carbon came out strong and got a 2-0 jump on the Lady Wasps. Juab rallied back and took the third set from the Dinos, but fell short in the fourth and final set of the match. Carbon gained their second win this season over the Lady Wasps 25-18, 25-17, 25-19 and 25-19.

A stellar Dino’s defense put Carbon on top Tuesday night. The team tallied a total of 82 digs and five blocks. Three Dino players posted double digit digs, led by senior libero Katee Martinez who contributed 28 digs of her own, followed by teammates Beth Child and Taylor Oliver who posted 18 and 12 digs, respectively.

Twelve service aces from the Dino squad also helped secure the win. “Our serve and pass was key to the victory tonight,” head coach Danielle Jensen commented. “Our girls were hitting their spots and serving aggressive.”

The Lady Dinos offense was paced by senior setter Lauren Rice who posted 26 assists on the night. The offense was led in kills by Child who contributed 10, followed by teammates Jordan Scoggins and Oliver who contributed seven and six kills, respectively.

The Lady Dinos look to repeat their upset of number-one ranked team in the region North Sanpete on Thursday night as they travel to Mt. Pleasant. The first serve is set for 6:30 pm.
