Libraries throughout Castle Country enjoy utilizing the summer months to draw youngsters inside their establishments with summer reading and activities. The Price City Library will host four summer reading programs through the summer; two in June, two in July.
The summer reading for Price City Library will begin on June 12 and run through July 31. Along with the summer reading, USU Extension will be hosting story times at the library on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. which will feature food, fun and reading. These story times began May 14 and will run until August 15. Those that wish to sign up for summer reading can visit the library and receive a packet.
The Helper City Library will also be hosting a summer reading program. This program, like the Price City Library, will also begin on June 12 and is slated to run through July 26. Children ages 0 to 17 are welcome to attend the summer reading program. The sign-up deadline is May 31. Registration forms may be picked up at the library.
Emery County libraries will also be hosting their own programs with a central theme of “Libraries Rock,” which is an adaptable theme focusing on music. The Castle Dale Library’s summer program are for children that are 4 or older and will begin on June 6 and continue on Wednesdays through the summer until July 18, excluding July 4.
Castle Dale Library will also start a new program titled “Book Babies,” which is for infants from womb to 3. This program will take place on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Castle Dale Library will also host a reading club for all kids where prizes can be earned for reading. This program has already began and will run until August 31.
