Press Release

What a great way to end your week of celebrating the 4th of July and all the freedoms we enjoy!

Castle Valley Community Theater is proud to present the delightful family musical “My Turn on Earth,” written by the beloved LDS author and poetess Carol Lynn Pearson with music by Lex de Azevedo. Following in the tradition of stories highlighting the different religions in our communities like Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Nunsence, Nuncrackers and Fidldler on the Roof, CVCT brings to the Civic Auditorium stage a story outlining LDS beliefs about the pre-existence and our Heavenly Father’s plan of salvation for his children. Taking place in Heaven, five local talented teens portray coming to earth to learn how to live good lives and finding what the treasures are in earth life.

Barbara, played by Mersedez Clifford, searches for why she has come to earth and is aided in her search for purpose by Charles, Ryan Morely, John; David Hobbs; Pam, McKenna Dougal and Gloria, Katrina Edwards. Fourteen other smaller children also sing and dance under the direction of Diane Clifford and Karen Bedont. Ashley Yakovich is technical director and Brent Stockdale designed the lighting. Lots of us grew up singing the lilting songs from this show. Come remember those sweet times with us.

Come enjoy the wonderful music and enchanting children in air conditioned comfort. Please note that curtain time is 7 p.m. July 6, 7, 8 and 10 with a 1 p.m. matinee on July 8.

Ticket prices are only $7 or with a family of six, the rate is only $2. Group rates are also available by calling Madelaine Nyffeler at (435) 650-2202.
