Carbon-Emery Motorcycle Club members requested track maintenance and changes to the motocross track at the fairgrounds during the Carbon County Commission meeting Wednesday.

Club members cited flat jumps, eroding corners and bathrooms that continually stay locked because maintenance workers don’t want to deal with vandalism.

Club member Tony Jaramillo said, “We [were] known for our track, and now it’s a big joke because nothing has really been done out there.”

Commissioner Jae Potter replied, “It’s a great track, and I have plenty of family who go there and like it even though there are things that need to be done.

Commissioners agreed to research refurbishing the track.

Commissioner Mike Milovich said, “We need a list of what’s wrong with the track then we will look into it and find a person to fix it.”

Notes:

  • Commissioners approved costs for the County Fair Rodeo.
  • Commissioners agreed to solicit bids for Senior Citizen Center building repairs and maintenance costs.
