Clean Up Efforts Continue After Semi Spills Gasoline on Highway 6

Clean up efforts continue through the night and into the morning. Crews are on scene cleaning up the estimated 8,000 gallon spill along SR6 and Price River near the Carbonville on-ramp.

Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are on scene conducting assessments and monitoring quantities of contaminate along the river. Envirocare, a hazardous materials clean-up company is on site, safely packaging contaminate and debris for disposal. Landon’s Diesel is preparing the tractor trailer to be towed off site.

Road closures are still in effect, traffic is being diverted through Carbonville. Currently there is not an estimated time of reopening SR6. We will keep you updated as progress is made.
