Several individuals gathered at the Four Corners Behavior Health administrative office to take part in a live webcast “Everyone Plays a Role in Suicide Prevention-Turning Strategy into Action.”

Many from Carbon and Emery counties used the option to call in and listen using their smart phones as well.

Carbon County is listed as having the second highest suicide rate in the state. Efforts to help identify the reason and provide new support systems have been at the forefront with many agencies and individuals who are determined to turn this trend around.

The two-hour webcast included a panel of speakers who have success in the area of suicide prevention with high-risk groups, which include veterans, Native Americans, victims of domestic violence and LGBTQ populations.

Information gathered from the webcast will be discussed at the Suicide Prevention Coalition meeting next week.
