This will be the last regular update released unless a critical change in fire events takes place.

Summary: A Red Flag Warning is no longer in effect, however high winds along with a slight chance of showers and lightening is possible today. Smoke and some active flame can be expected to remain present on the fire, however, it is all from the interior. This fire activity will continue to be monitored and poses little threat of spread because it is well within the fireline.

The north end of the fire continues to hold with little to no fire spread in green aspen. Areas with no fire activity are being monitored and are undergoing remediation efforts such as rehabilitation of fireline.

As firefighters continue to monitor and contain the fire, please keep in mind that a closure order, along with temporary flight restrictions, are in effect for the area. These have been implemented for firefighter and public safety, and the restriction order will be enforced.

Closures: A new closure order is in effect as of 07/04/18. If you’re planning to recreate in the vicinity this weekend, please be mindful that wildland fires are constantly changing environments. Check fire conditions and closure areas via links below before heading out.

See a map and description of the area at: https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/maps/5830. Little Bear Campground, Lower Little Bear Campground, and River Bend Campsite are closed. Highway 31 is open, but please drive with caution.
