Since the end of January, construction has filled the Desert Wave Pool as crews repaired the floor of the wave pool.
Tamara Gray, supervisor at the Desert Wave Pool, was pleased with the outcome of the project. “It went really well and was completed ahead of schedule,” she said.
Once the Wave Pool was drained in January, crews were brought in to resurface the bottom of the pool, making it smoother and not as rough on the feet. “We cleaned up the bottom and made it a lot better, really smoothing out the rough spots on the bottom,” stated Gray. “It was desperately in need of some TLC.”
The project was completed last week and the pool again began to fill with water last Wednesday. The public can come see the updates at the Desert Wave Pool during their open house on Monday, Feb. 26 from 1 to 8 p.m. or during their regular hours of 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays from 12 to 8 p.m.
