Carbon County Sheriff Jeff Wood and Emery County Sheriff Greg Funk graciously accept donations from the Desertview Federal Credit Union employees’ recent fundraising efforts.

Did you know that if a car seat is involved in an accident, it is no longer safe and is illegal to use?

With this thought in mind, the team at Desertview Federal Credit Union set out to serve those who serve us everyday; local law enforcement entities. Employees of the credit union set their sights on a fundraiser starting in November, aiming to gather new car seats, gift cards and cash for the Carbon and Emery sheriff’s offices as well as the Utah Highway Patrol.

Over a month’s worth of donations from the community was distributed on Wednesday afternoon. Each law enforcement entity was gifted with $1,000 cash, various gift cards and a handful of new car seats. The donated funds will be used as each entity sees fit while the car seats will serve to assist community members in various circumstances.

“As the Shop-With-A-Cop program relies entirely upon donations from individuals and businesses, this surprise donation is a huge boost for next year’s program,” the Emery County Sheriff’s Office shared. “ECSO extends a heart-felt thanks to the employees at Desertview and the generous patrons who donated.”

The Carbon County Sheriff’s Office expressed similar sentiments, sharing their appreciation via Facebook.

“We are so grateful to all of our community partners and the support they show us,” the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office shared. “We wouldn’t be able to do our jobs without the love and support from the community. Thank you Desertview Credit Union and ALL of the community.”

Donations are still being accepting at the Desertview locations in Huntington and Ferron throughout the coming weeks. For more information, please call (435) 687-9364.
