Dinos and Spartans Face Off in Track Friendly in Price

The Carbon Dinos and Emery Spartans went head-to-head on Friday in a non-qualifying track friendly in Price.

After it was all said and done, Carbon came out with the victory, 578-372. The Carbon boys finished just 10 points ahead of the Emery boys. For the girls, it was 326 for Carbon and 130 for Emery.

Carbon’s Shannon Baker continued her dominance in the early season meets. She took first in the 100, 200 and 400 meters and first in the long jump. Carson Frame snagged two firsts for the boys, taking the high jump and the 110 hurdles. Jodi Noyes threw for first in the both the discus and shot put on the girls’ side.

Emery’s Braiden Ivie dominated again in the 100 and 200 meters, placing first in both. He also, along with Mason Faimalo, Daeden Behling and Griffin Livingston, took home first in the boys’ sprint medley relay. Drake Hoffman also took two firsts, in the shot put and discus events. Bryar Meccariello raced to top finishes in the 1600 and 800 meters, respectively.

Both teams will participate, with Emery hosting, in the Darrel Gardner Invitational on Tuesday.
