The Carbon Dinos kicked off the 2016 season at home against fellow 3A member Manti Friday night. Key turnovers in the first half and a steady second spurred the Templars to the 42-0 win.
Carbon never really threatened the end zone in Friday night’s loss. Manti scored on the ground and through the air. Both teams featured the Wing T offense and it showed on defense as each were steady on that side of the ball.
Coach Josh Huntsman and the rest of the Dinos will be on the road the next two weeks as they travel to Ben Lomond on Friday and to Snow Canyon the following week. Ben Lomond beat Richfield 40-17 in Richfield on Friday night. Snow Canyon was tripped up by Uintah 25-23 to begin its season in Vernal.
