Dinos Lose Early Lead, Trounced at Providence Hall

After taking a three-point lead into the second quarter, the Carbon Dinos were outscored 37-15 in the second and third quarters, leading to the 67-46 defeat on Friday night at Providence Hall.

The loss marked Carbon’s fifth straight defeat, with its last win coming against Maeser Prep on Jan. 5.

Against the Patriots, the Dinos mustered just 15 points in the second and third quarters and 31 in the first and third.

Derek Hillam scored a team-high 15 points. Ryan Gagon, 12, and Ty Anderson, 11, both scored in double figures. Gagon also hit two threes, as did Colin Lewis, who finished with six points.

Carbon (4-15, 3-6 Region 14) will play its final three games as home, beginning with a Wednesday tilt against Maeser Prep (6-10, 1-7 Region 14).
