The Carbon Lady Dinos basketball team hosted its last home game of the 2017-2018 season against Union Tuesday night.

The intense game once again ended in victory for the Dinos with a one-point lead at half time and some foul trouble in the fourth quarter. The Lady Dinos sealed the deal with the final score being 62-53. They haven’t experienced a loss since the last time they played Union on their home court when Dinos came up short with the final score of 42 – 39.

Jodi Noyes had a good showing despite getting into foul trouble in the fourth quarter, making six out of eight shots from the field with another three points from the line. She led the Dinos with an accumulative 15 points. Noyes also had eight rebounds, three blocks and a steal. Kelsey Sorenson was also strong underneath, pulling down 12 rebounds, three steals, eight assists and putting 14 points of her own on the board; 12 points were from the field and another two from the foul line.

Abbie Saccomanno and Makenna Blanc both contributed 10 points apiece. Saccomanno was solid at the foul line, raking up seven of her 10 points there, only missing one foul shot throughout the game and sinking a thee-point shot. Blanc was perfect at the foul line, going two for two and made another eight points from the field. Blanc also fouled out.

Jordan Bianco had an impressive drive down the middle with just minutes left, making her layup adding another two, along with a three-point shot and two from the line. Harley Migliori had an amazing entrance coming off the bench, making 4-6 of her foul shots at a critical point in the game. Migliori crashed the boards hard and dominated underneath at the end of fourth quarter bringing down seven rebounds, which allowed the Dinos to keep possession of the ball.

The Dinos will need to maintain their winning streak with the upcoming game at ALA  on Thursday to secure their spot in the region standings. As of now they are in a three-way tie for first place with Union and Juab.
