Dinos Split Playoff Games, Earn Another Playoff Tilt

The Carbon Dinos split a pair of 3A Playoff games on Saturday in Park City, losing to Desert Hills 7-1, before thrashing Morgan 13-2 in just five innings.

Carbon managed just three hits in game one against Desert Hills. Gavin Robinett had two of the hits, a double and single. Cody Lowe had the other.

Zac Bradley took the loss on the mound after allowing all seven runs, just four earned, on five hits. Adrien Sanchez pitched the final three innings and only allowed a single hit the rest of the way. He also struck out six batters in the tilt.

The Dinos’ bats came alive against Morgan in game two, collecting 12 hits en route to 13 runs. Lowe had two hits in four at-bats, including a home run and a single with three RBIs. Robinett had two RBIs in the game on a double in four plate appearances. Nate Olson and Chase Morgan combined to go 5-6 with two doubles. Morgan also got the win on the bump, pitching the entire game, allowing just two runs on two hits.

Carbon will take on Stansbury in the third round of the 3A One-Loss bracket on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Spanish Fork.
