Carbon made it a perfect 3-0 against North Sanpete this season with a convincing doubleheader sweep of the Hawks on Thursday.

The Dinos outscored the Hawks 18-6 in the games.

Carbon started freshman Jayden Flemment in game one, in which the youngster saw his first varsity action. But it was senior Kenyon Crisp who came in relief and got the win.

Cole Fossat bashed a fourth inning home run for Carbon to get the Dinos passed the Hawks 8-6. Kellen Trujillo also doubled for the Dinos.

Fossat went six strong innings in game two, giving up no runs on just three hits. Colton Greener continued the shutout in the seventh, allowing an additional hit before closing the contest out 10-0.

Domonic Rondinelli, Dallyn Mower and Jeter Tubbs all doubled in the game. Zac Hathaway legged out a triple.

Head coach Brett Bennett said his team holds their own Region 12 destiny in their hands.

“We are set to win region,” he said. “If we win the next four games, we will win region.”

Carbon has won five straight and seven of eight and sits in second place in the Region 12 standing behind Payson. The Dinos will play at Richfield Friday in a makeup game from April 2. After that, three games against third place Juab next week. Carbon will travel to Nephi Tuesday and will host the Wasps for a doubleheader Thursday.
