Kameron Gunter went 3-4 with two RBIs in the Carbon Dinos’ 10-6 win against Juab Friday afternoon in Helper, taking the season series against the Wasps 2-1.

Gunter had two singles and a double in the victory, which put Carbon in a tie for first place atop the Region 12 standings. Chase Morgan had a triple and a single in the game, scoring two runs as well. Jayden Flemett and Ty Anderson also had two hits apiece in the game. Four of the Dinos’ 13 hits went for extra bases.

Juab scored in the first inning to take the lead, but Carbon notched three runs in each of the second, third and fifth innings to break the game wide open. The Wasps added two runs in the top of the seventh to make it interesting before Jaxon Leonard retired the side, giving the Dinos the win.

Gavin Robinett went 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs (just one earned) on six hits. Leonard came on in relief, giving up just another earned run (three total) on four hits.

Carbon (6-6, 2-1 Region 12) will take on Richfield (4-10, 1-2 Region 12) three times this week, beginning with a doubleheader Tuesday in Richfield before hosting the Wildcats in Helper on Wednesday.
