Southeastern Utah District Health Department Press Release

The Don’t Be a Butt Head Tobacco Kills 5K/10K is an event the Southeastern Utah District Health Department does in partnership with the National Kick Butts Day every year in March.

Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth, families and the community to speak up and take action against tobacco. This year, there will be more than 1,000 Kick Butts Day events from coast to coast.

Smoking kills more people than alcohol, AIDS, car accidents, illegal drugs, murders and suicides combined with thousands more dying from spit tobacco use. Of all the kids who become new smokers each year, almost a third will ultimately die from it. In addition, smokers lose a decade of life because of their smoking.

On March 28, Southeastern Utah District Health Department will partner with youth and community groups to host our third annual Don’t Be a Butthead Tobacco Kills 5K/10K Walk/Run.

Registration closes March 6. The event is free to the public with a limit of 500 participants. To register, go to seuhealth.com. For more information, call (435) 637-3671.
