Groundhog Day is not a holiday typically celebrated by most people. However, for the past 17 years, Dr. Trace Lund of Price Pediatric Dental has celebrated the occasion with his patients.

Dressed in all brown and accompanied by his son Tanner, who was dressed as a giant groundhog, the pair shared their love for the annual holiday with the young patients who visited the office on Monday. Following their dental visit, each child was presented with a coloring book, mask and various other goodies.

“Groundhog Day is in the middle of winter and it gives me something fun to celebrate,” Lund explained. “I’m not always in the Price office on this day, but this year I have the opportunity to share the fun with these great patients.”

Earlier in the day, Punxsutawney Phil left his burrow in Pennsylvania and is reported to have seen his shadow. The 128-year-old tradition states that if the furry fellow sees his shadow, then six weeks of winter remain.
