Eagles Go 1-3 Against CSI

The College of Southern Idaho proved tough for the Golden Eagles as they secured just one win in a two-day stint in Idaho.

In the first game of a doubleheader on Friday, USU Eastern managed just two runs in the game, losing 5-2. Bennett Bradford doubled and Greg Money hit a triple in the game. Money and Tyler Nielson each had a RBI apiece. Jayce Hill picked up the loss on the mound.

In the second game of the day, the Eagles were unable to run home, falling 3-0. Kelby Landon had a double in the game and Bennett Bradford picked up a loss on the mound.

On Saturday, the Eagles once again faced CSI for a doubleheader. The first game of the day was the best the team had all weekend as they picked up a 10-2 win. Nielson, Hadley Thorpe, Cory McKendrick and Kelby Landon each had an RBI apiece. Brandon Eyring finished the game with three RBIs and Cooper Thorpe managed two. Sean Hardman pitched all seven innings in the game, earning the win in the circle.

USU Eastern wrapped up the weekend with another tough game against CSI. The team managed only one hit in the 3-1 loss. Jordan Mellen had a triple in the game and Money had the lone RBI.

The team will now travel to take on Western Nevada College in four games on April 23-25.
