The Emery High School swim team traveled to the two-day Tooele Invitational swim meet Friday and Saturday.

The girls finished in seventh place overall and the boys claimed ninth place. Eleven schools participated in the meet.

The event was the Spartans’ first large meet of the season, and the competition provided a great experience.

“I am very proud of the team,” said coach Tammy Oliverson. “I had two different coaches from very large schools come up to me and tell me that they were both really impressed with the way our team acted and performed, especially with the swim team being created only three years ago.”

Team co-captains Weston Allinson and Tyler Rowley were both impressed with the team and were excited to prepare for the next meet.

Emery next hosts Delta on Jan. 4 in Castle Dale.
