It wasn’t always pretty, but the Emery Lady Spartans slugged their way past the Enterprise Wolves 33-25 Thursday night in a quarterfinal matchup in Richfield.

The 33 points scored by Emery was a season low. Its previous low was a 45-point outing versus Duchesne on Dec. 13. The Lady Spartans shot just 6-25 in the first half and 6-17 in the second for a combined 28.6% clip. Emery’s defense held the Wolves to just 17% shooting (9-53).

Megan Jensen pulled down 16 rebounds and poured in a team high eights points. She shared the offensive output with Lainee Jensen, who nailed two threes in the game. Bailey Huggard also had seven points and eight rebounds.

Emery played the game without one of its starters in Kacelyn Toomer, who broke her ankle earlier in the week. Morgan Hurdsman took her place in the lineup, scoring four points.

The Lady Spartans will take on Beaver on Friday at 5:50 p.m. in the semifinals. Emery beat Beaver 48-30 in Castle Dale back on Jan. 3.
