Emery County Commissioners approved a new plan for septic systems that would provide alternatives for homes that can’t hook into the current sewer system.

Current laws and ordinances prohibit citizens from building houses in certain areas where sewer access isn’t accessible.

The new plan allows for several alternatives for waste disposal and drainage. The alternatives would be much more expensive for homebuilders, but they would allow citizens to build homes in previously inaccessible areas.

Notes:

  • Commissioners awarded a bid to a firm from Salt Lake City to purchase scrap metal from the Emery County Landfill. The bid will help bring more money into Emery County.
  • The Commission meeting was hosted in Green River. Commissioners have a meeting in Green River once per year.
