Emery County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

Emery County Sheriff’s Office personnel have been issued Powerheart Plus Auto AEDs (automated external defibrillators) to be kept in their patrol vehicles. They have also completed AED training.

Deputies are often first to arrive on scene at a medical emergency or traffic accident, and ECSO administration felt that it was crucial to better equipt the patrol division with this potential life-saving equipment. With this device, deputies have the best opportunity to save a life if someone is in cardiac arrest. These devices are easy to store in a vehicle and easy to use. Annual refresher training will be held to keep deputies comfortable and familiar with the use of the AEDs.
