Emery County’s Antique Road Show

The Emery County Historical Society hosted its annual Antique Road Show at Miller’s Landing last week. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Bart Cox and Janet Tuttle playing favorite old time hits on the fiddle and harmonica.

Edward Geary, the host for the evening, relating the story of Miller’s Landing’s restoration. The building was built by George Miller in 1908 for a merchandise store, bank and an apartment. It was then sold to Bowens and eventually became Guymon’s Merc. Everything remaining in the store is original and has been beautifully restored by Kathy Nielson.

Presenters for the evening were Robin and Kim Vigil, Hancock,  the Seelys (Mark, Mary and Matthew(, Lori McElprang, Kyle  Singleton, Gene Brown, Dee Anderson, John Anderson and Evelyn Huntsman. Many antiques and stories of their acquisition were shared with nearly 40 members of the society. The evening came to a close with society officers serving their guests refreshments and the sharing of more stories.
